hey guys,
I'm proposing deletion instead of deprecation of CAS-PGE product file renaming and met file writing... this will be replaced by the CAS-Crawler AutoDetectProductCrawler which now has support for both these things... CAS-Crawler has evolved along-side CAS-PGE and has been integrated with support for the features which CAS-PGE has when dealing which ingesting files... in the interest of keeping the feature logic of product extraction and ingestion contained to one component (and this deletion greatly simplifies CAS-PGEs code base) i believe that forcing users to update their existing configuration to instead use CAS-Crawlers configuration in CAS-PGE is not unreasonable and will actually present a hugh benefit to users to do so... being that CAS-Crawler has been set up to run stand-alone, in cases where CAS-PGE prematurely fails or fails to ingest the products generated (especially in cases where CAS-PGE failed to create the metadata files for these generated products), the user would now simply be able to perform these file ingests by just triggering a crawler run from the command line pointing it at the configuration used by that CAS-PGE run... let me know if you feel strongly otherwise... you can track the code changes on this feature update (whether or not this feature is deleted or deprecated) here: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/OODT-426
