You can try http://openmeetings.apache.org/Upgrade.html Or since you are using one of the recent 3.1.0-snapshot version you can unpack binaries, copy persistence.xml and run, everything should work as expected, BUT you are doing it at your own risk :) upgrade process is preferable :)
