Hi Felipe!

I made all running with tomcat-7.0.54 and did reproduce your problem.

It seems that you fire a CDI event to a SessionScoped bean from a
HttpSessionListener#sessionDestroyed. I fear this is just not supported by the
spec.
Your workaround by observing the event in an @ApplicationScoped bean and then
delegating through to a @SessionScoped one just doesn't work.
The reason is that the sessionDestroyed method gets invoked from inside the
container and not via a web request. Thus we just don't setup the ThreadLocal
which contains the sessionId yet. We could do this, but it's not defined in the
spec. So even IF we would provide this you would operate FAR outside the
specified behaviour.

Why not just simply use a @PreDestroy in your SessionScoped beans?

 Dear
Mark, from the beginning my goal in this example, it has
always been to do the dependency injection within the tomcat
that was not Tomee, for reasons of economy of
 memory.

The error happens in my example when the session expires,
and then i execute the method using the implementation of my
 facade, so when the error
happens.  I used the workaround you
post in your blog, firing the event to use another java bean
with application scope and than i got the same
 error.

 I hope you understand my
situation and can help me in this
 difficulty.

 Hi felipe!

I've moved your sample to TomEE (which includes
the latest 1.2.x OpenWebBeans version) and all works fine
now - at least what I can tell from clicking on the
page. You can find the changes on my github
 account.

If you like to nativ OWB then please try out the latest
 build from trunk.

found quite a few other issues in webbeans-tomcat7 which I
 fixed now.

Will soon hit your area I

Mark, I discovered the cause of my problem. I
do not know why it does not recognize the cdi injection
 annotation within the listener class.
Thus, I look for a workaround to
solve this problem, which it does disconnect the user when
the session expires. So I changed the session timeout in
tomcat web.xml, to test, so i get this error below:

  I discovered the cause of
 problem
 I confuse
the listener that should be placed in the web.xml file. I
 was putting
 org.apache.webbeans.web.tomcat.ContextLifecycleListener
 thinking instead of
 org.apache.webbeans.servlet.WebBeansConfigurationListener.

 1- So take this opportunity
to ask what the purpose of the listener
 org.apache.webbeans.web.tomcat.ContextLifecycleListener?
2- Another confusing thing was that
in my web project, the lookup of the bean was returning
empty list. The initial location was within the META-INF
folder. So I moved the beans.xml inside the WEB-INF, and the
 lookup began to run correctly.

The documentation says that the correct location is not
 within the META-INF?

  Mojarra 2.2.6 always
dispatch this error below at deploy
 moment.

 My
 project never use @FlowDefinition
  annotation !

 WebBeans context with scope type
annotation @FlowDefinition does not exist within current
 thread

 So i
changed to implementation to myfaces 2.2.4 , and other error
 happens
