Hello, tldr; I have raised a PR here <https://github.com/apache/poi/pull/607> to add very basic capability to support inserting SVGs in XWPF documents.
More Context: MS Office supports inserting/rendering SVGs in several formats (including PPTX and DOCX) since 2016. Poi however supports inserting SVGs in PPTX slideshows (see this <https://bz.apache.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=62365> bugzilla entry), but it is currently impossible in DOCX as the XWPFRelation doesn't exist. This <https://github.com/apache/poi/pull/607> PR I linked adds the very basics for setting up XWPFRelation, but isn't an equivalent to the XSLF capabilities which also include rasterizing the SVG.
