Hello! We’re trying to use Apache Ranger with our installation of Hadoop (CDH 5.4). We have been able to get the Ranger Admin portal running but cannot seem to get the Hadoop Namenode to pick up the HDFS plugin.
We are following the instructions at https://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/RANGER/Ranger+Installation+Guide. We’ve tried both 0.5.0 and 0.4.1 after compiling the source code. I see that the name node is picking up the jar files from /usr/lib/hadoop directory and the right configuration values are injected into the xml files (hdfs-site.xml) but I don’t see the agent on my ranger admin UI. Are there any known incompatibilities with CDH versions of Hadoop? Or is there something that we’re missing? Cheers, -- Harish
