Hafiz: This is a decent introduction to Ranger<https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qZMhK6MHfXE> in particular and the echo system in which Ranger works. There are a few other<https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uCZKrKo5ebQ> decent introductory Ranger videos to help you get started, too. There is a similar introductory video on Knox<https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KLI9UUW00Kc> available. I think a review of these might answer most if not all of your questions.
Coming to think of it, @Bosco/@Balaji/@Selva would you find mind uploading a soft copy of your Brussels presentation on the internet (say slideshare) and then post a link to it on the above YouTube page, too, please? I felt that it would be helpful for someone viewing the video if they also had access to the presentation slides. I want to know how can we use apache knox and apache ranger effectively ? is it useful for only webhdfs ? Can we restrict a user from using hdfs or hadoop commands within cluster and outside of cluster? What is the best use of ranger? Thanks
