It is described as an explanation of why Orbitz "ditched" Jini and adopted REST and Protocol Buffers. I found it to be a fairly lightweight description of a toy REST and Protocol Buffers application. It certainly did not go through any kind of an exposition of how Orbitz used Jini and how those uses were replaced by REST or PBs. I doubt anyone close to the actual implementations (before or after) can say anything significant for obvious proprietary/disclosure reasons. So perhaps I don't even have a question or a comment for this email list. Except maybe just to say, well, "sigh". -Patrick
