Thanks for your reply!
Some general suggestions:
Try checking the entries in the database (the "roller_comment" table)
directly. Verify that your posted comments are making it there and
are in approved state (approved flag is 1).
I've checked this. The comments are not making it there. If I post a
comment nothing
get's inserted into "roller_comment" table. As a additional note: The
time comments have
worked and after submitting a comment the user got the message:
"Your comment has been submitted to the moderator for approval."
This text doesn't appear anymore.
Check that your theme is using up-to-date macros for displaying comments.
The macros are up to date but I think that displaying isn't the problem.
The comments
aren't making it into the database.
Try enabling DEBUG logging broadly.
I've enabled it but I really don't see anything usefull. After clearing
the cache I submitted
a comment and get 250 KByte of logfile. I don't want to post it here
because of the size.
Normally I would expect to see the comment text as a binding variable
but that's not
the case. I've also enabled hibernate logging but I don't see any
entries which shows me
the problem.
When the cache is filled and I submit a comment the only entries in the
logfile I get are:
DEBUG 2007-06-28 22:23:51,543 WeblogRequestMapper:handleRequest -
evaluating
[/roller/CommentAuthenticatorServlet]
DEBUG 2007-06-28 22:23:51,543 WeblogRequestMapper:handleRequest -
potential weblog handle =
CommentAuthenticatorServlet
DEBUG 2007-06-28 22:23:51,544 WeblogRequestMapper:handleRequest -
SKIPPED CommentAuthenticatorServlet
Any hints for what queries I especially should look for?
Greetings
Robert

Subject: Comments do not work anymore
Hi!
I'm using Roller 3.1 for a while now (updated from several versions
during the last years...) and I've just recognized that the comments
are not working anymore. I'm using Tomcat 5.5 and Java 1.5 on Linux
(Gentoo 2007.1).
Checking the output of catalina.out and roller.log gives me absolutely
no hint what's going on. There is no entry (error) in the log files
when I try
to make a comment and press "Post" button.
Formerly I've configured the comments to be moderated. I disabled
it but still no comments possible. Comments are of
course allowed in the weblog settings and by default comments
for new entries are also allowed for an unlimited time.
Are there anyboy who can give me some hints? Any ways I can track
this?
Thank you very much!
Robert
