The easy way is to use the Planet features that are already integrated
into Roller 4.0.
Follow the instructions in the Roller installation guide to setup the
integrated Planet features.
There are several advantages to this approach:
- It's in a release with an installer, docs, etc.
- You can customize pages via the Roller UI

If you really want to run the same code that powers planet.sun.com and
you have Java development skills then you can try to build and deploy
the Planet Roller WAR yourself.

Instructions for fetching Roller code is here:
http://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/ROLLER/Roller+Source+Code

I'd recommend getting code from the Roller 4.0 branch here (i.e.
branches/roller_4.0).
