In fact, we're trying to move fast to start work on Shiro 2.x soon. The (very) long release delay hasn't really been about code at all - IMO it has mostly been about trying to solve the static website + documentation problems that have been forced upon us by ASF infrastructure changes. We can't do a release until we can publish a website, and the infrastructure for that has fundamentally changed at the ASF. It hasn't been a high priority for us to fix it previously (since we were more focused on Shiro code more than anything), but we can't avoid it any further... HTH, Les
