Not that I'm aware of. We ran into the similar "issue" where we didn't want to keep accumulating all these empty part files in storage on S3 or HDFS. There didn't seem to be any performance free way to do it with an RDD, so we just run a non-spark post-batch operation to delete empty files from the write path.
