The Apache Sqoop team is pleased to announce the release of Sqoop 1.99.6. This is the sixth cut of Sqoop2 branch.
Apache Sqoop is a tool designed for efficiently transferring bulk data between Apache Hadoop and structured datastores, such as relational databases. The release is available here:http://www.apache.org/dyn/closer.cgi/sqoop/1.99.6 Sqoop 1.99.6 has several new features including Hive integration through the Kite connector and Role Based Access Control (RBAC). The Apache Sentry project is working on providing bindings using Sqoop2's RBAC APIs. Sqoop 1.99.6 has had several stability improvements as well.
