Thanks 😊 it is for the import-all-tables tool.

Subject: Re: --schema option in connection to DB2 database.

Hi Dan,

Documentation somewhat lagged behind, as it wasn't expected in patches to add
it whenever a new feature was implemented.
SQOOP 1.4.7 contains the implementation of SQOOP-1905, though it only affects
the import-all-tables tool and the list-tables tool.
(Which tool are you using?)

# Example commands:
sqoop list-tables --connect $CONN --username $USER --password $PASS --
--schema DB2INST2
sqoop import-all-tables --connect $CONN --username $USER --password $PASS --
--schema DB2INST2

I can't comment on when it will be released by Cloudera, though I can say that
it will be in our next major release.

Best Regards,
Fero

From the documentation it appears that the --schema option is only available
for PostgreSQL and Microsoft SQL, there is no mention of it for DB2.

I've been using Sqoop with DB2 and have not needed this option, you can qualify
the table with the schema name like this "--table MYSCHEMA.MYTABLE".

Hi

As I understand, the –schema option will be/is part of version 1.4.7

I the correct? I’ve looked through the documentation for 1.4.7 but this option
isn’t mentioned here...

The reason I ask, is that I use DB2 extensively and this particular option is
very much needed for me in order to filter out tables for import/export, så I
just wanted to be sure.

Unfortunately our Cloudera platform currently only uses 1.4.6, and I don’t know
when Cloudera will include version 1.4.7, but if my understanding is indeed
correct, I will be looking forward to it.
