Apache Steve Community, mean Ian Jacobs. Ian Jacobs, meet the Apache
Steve Community.
To bring everybody up to speed, Ian works for the W3C, which is
evaluating voting systems. Ian came across python-vote-core[1] and has
been experimenting with it. Then I mentioned that the ASF employs STV
in board elections, and he wanted to compare notes.
Ian mentioned that he has found bugs with python-vote-core and got
fixes. I mentioned that our software has been problem free for us for
years.
Ian mentioned that he hasn't been able to get visibility into
python-vote-core obtains the results it does. I mentioned that our
software can produce a debugging output showing every iteration.
Ian mentioned that the Meek rule has a "keep factor" that he didn't yet
understand. I mentioned that... oh, wait a minute. I didn't mention
anything, because at this point I'm clearly over my head. Instead, I'm
doing introductions. :-)
As I said, Apache Steve Community, mean Ian Jacobs. Ian Jacobs, meet
the Apache Steve Community.
