The current architecture for generating reports uses Crystal Report 9.0 The problem faced with this are 1. The data in the crystal report can be read only from a data source i.e. tables. Therefore there is a need to create some table for reports. 2. The reports needs to be presented in such a manner that the rows needs to be converted into columns. (Transpose) The transpose logic makes the reports response time very slow. 3. There is a need to make a call to IIS. Can somebody suggest a reporting tool which has got the features like Crystal Report (Export, Print, Group, Page Header, Page Break) but can also use the data of the java classes for generating reports. I have heard of Datavision, JFreeReport tools but not sure whether they can take data from java classes to generate reports and have the same features.. Taking data from java classes is important as it will be easy to put the transpose logic in the java code and will in the end improve the response time of reports.
