Shailender,

Should I ask if the file is taking so long due to bandwidth issues such as
trying to send it up over a 50kbps modem versus a cable modem, DSL, or other
speedy connection?

For the compression program I would recommend a zip variant since you can
find them as zip/unzip on Linux/Mac platforms, as well as simple GUI
interfaces such as WinZIP for PC's. I was going to recommend winRAR but I
don't see anything on the web indicating if any java decompression classes
could open their .rar files. Using "jar -tvf test.rar" didn't even index
the files in my quickie test a few moments ago.

Regards,
David

Subject: File Upload

Hi,

I am using the File Upload example provided by Struts in my application.

I need to upload 1 MB of file.
This is taking too much time.
Is there any way by which the file is compressed into a zip (or any
other) and then it is uploaded.

Thanks & Regards
Shailender Jain
