Thanks for your interest, Steve. I assume you are talking about my notes to Carlos, who "saw" the same difference, Steve. I can tell you that I tested it because what I saw surprised me. There was suddenly a "snap" there had not been before. On small things like this, I use java.util.Date, Steve, to get times and then I subtract the beginning time from the end time to get the elapsed time.


You should be able to put the various solutions together and to do that test yourself easily enough, if you have doubts, and even if you don't have doubts.. I would also be interested in any results you get.


I did not do any major testing on this. The only reason I would do this if I were using a solution that was slower and less performance oriented but yet had other aspects that I wanted.
