I think it will only be there until the Server has established a session cookie with the user's browser, unless the browser doesn't allow cookies (then it should always be there). I don't know of a reason why it will do any harm.

The behavior of the src and page attributes is the same with regard to this. I'm not sure if there is a way to turn it off for certain tags or whether that would be desired.
