LOL dude ... that's a lovely post :-)  I'm going to print it and hang
it outside my pod for all to see :-)

I do agree there's a better way.  I fully-acknowledge my lack of
expertise to design a "full-featured" solution.  I've already raised
the level a lot though, just using what I do know, and that's at least
a step in the right direction.  If people see how much using my stuff
simplifies things, I can edge in comments like "Yeah, <favorite
persistence framework/> does that and more ... and it's just a little
more configuration ... but you lose half the java code, so it more
than pays for itself" ... that's when I'll be in a position to effect
meaningful change ;-)
