Yes, that's right. I mean that the form is passing the validation - which can only mean that the validation is ignoring the validation rules associated with the pages, otherwise it would fail. The action does have validate set to true. And if I remove all references to the page then all the validation rules are used albeit on the wrong pages - and the validation fails - which is exactly as I would expect. Maybe the StrutsTest is the problem - although I don't see why
