Not that illuminating to me, it isn't!... My version of layout/layout.jsp:7 just says "<f:view> so I am not sure why that would be a problem.. I have currently hosed my application entirely (:( so am in a bit of a mess myself, so am not sure how I can help. Sorry! Hopefully somebody will tell us what this error means..? Btw, you didn't change anything in the war you downloaded, right? ..just grasping for straws here.. Geeta
