It is definitely alive ... 2002 is when Cedric moved active development of Tiles into Struts, where it lives today. Indeed, there is a current effort to make Tiles a stand-alone deliverable (as a subproject of the Struts project), to make it easier for other frameworks to integrate it. At the same time, I would like to see the APIs of Tiles remodelled so that Tiles could easily be used in a portlet (JSR-168 compliant) environment, not just in servlets. So there's plenty of work to do, and any support you'd like to offer would be very much appreciated. Thank you all.
