Solved the problem: In my case the problem was a type conversion :-) I have a bean class, which is filled by hidden fields. I have some overloaded setters with a type and a string which converts into the type. So I assume struts doesn't look at the signature of the setter and just uses the first it gets. So in my case it tried to put a String in the setter with a type which causes a type conversion error which leads to the result input problem. So I added a setter with different name which does the conversion from String to my type.
