Use Same JSP Page For Several Modes (View, Edit, Approve, Create)

Does anyone have sample JSP with a clean, easy way to utilize the same JSP
page for multiple views, maybe even by users with different roles? Is there
any best practice? I wonder if anyone has found a way to do it with as
little hardcoding as possible, and also being able to handle multiple modes,
with different submit buttons for users with different roles.
