I haven't read that blog post, but I do know that Spring treats @PersistenceContext differently than an EJB container. If you've configured everything within applicationContext.xml, rather than in the AppServer, and if you are extending JpaDaoSupport then I would think it should work properly. I will check it out tonight if I get a chance.
