I'm evaluating synapse esb. Also looked into ws02 esb that is powered by
synapse. Could some one point me to any documentation on what additional
features ws02 provides on Synapse?
The main enhancements over Synapse are on the graphical UI for management/configuration, and the integrated Registry. With WSO2 ESB v2.x it is possible to also host other web / data services on the same ESB instance, run BPEL etc as well, and the runtime is over OSGi. However, the core ESB engine of the WSO2 ESB is the same as of Synapse => i.e. both supports load balancing, failover, non-blocking http/s, JMS, etc..
When would one use ws02 over Synapse?
Does ws02 esb have the same licensing as Synapse?
Both Synapse and the WSO2 ESB are licensed under ASL v2.0 and commercially supported.

cheers
