Have you tried forcing maven updates ( passing ­U option to maven, just need
to do it once.)?

Grandl,
The Tez branch on Hive should just work. You could change 0.5.0-SNAPSHOT to
0.5.0, but that shouldn't make much difference. What command are you using
to build Hive ?
The following works for me.
mvn clean install -DskipTests -Phadoop-2
