Hello there,

the Tuscany 1.6 release contains the jruby-complete-1.1.3.jar, which

unfortunately bundles an old version of Joda time in the same Jar.

What is JRuby needed for in Tuscany, i. e. what wouldn’t work if

I just removed that jar from the Tuscany lib?

There's only one dependency on jruby, and that's in the implementation-script
module. If you're not using <implementation.script>, it should be fine to
remove that jar.

Otherwise, would it be possible to upgrade Tuscany to JRuby 1.7.0.preview1

(the next installment of the JRuby 1.x series), which comes bundled

with the current Joda version?

With the recent vote to release 2.0, I think it's unlikely that there will
be any more 1.x releases.
