Toan, VCL needs to have MAC addresses for both Private/Public interfaces. As well as static DHCP for at least Public IP addresses – you can use VCL GUI to generate corresponding dhcpd.conf file.
Having static DCHP for Public interface not necessary. The VCL GUI asks you to input Start MAC Address when you add computers. I'm note sure if there is default value for MAC address, you could check MAC addresses in the database if you already added computers and don't remember entering the info… -- Thank you, Dmitri Chebotarov VCL Sys Eng, Engineering & Architectural Support, TSD - Ent Servers & Messaging 223 Aquia Building, Ffx, MSN: 1B5 Phone: (703) 993-6175 | Fax: (703) 993-3404 From: Toan Trac <[email protected]<mailto:[email protected]>> Reply-To: "[email protected]<mailto:[email protected]>" <[email protected]<mailto:[email protected]>> Date: Friday, August 2, 2013 14:35 To: "[email protected]<mailto:[email protected]>" <[email protected]<mailto:[email protected]>> Subject: Importance of MAC address when adding a Virtual Machine Hello, I am trying to back track my configuration and notice I never enter any information on it. Do I need to have both the public and private MAC addresses? I seen this information: For VMware virtual machines, the MAC addresses you choose must be in the range 00:50:56:00:00:00 -00:50:56:3F:FF:FF. Pay special attention to the upper bound of this range. 00:50:56:40:00:00- 00:50:56:FF:FF:FF are NOT valid VMware virtual machines. TT
