Persisting XMLBeans to DB

What is the best technology for getting off the ground quickly with this? I'd like to use Hibernate/Spring but i've heard that it's not the easiest thing to persist XMLBeans POJO with these technologies - FYI I'm also a newbie to these types of persistence technologies.
