We should release 3.7.1, the main reason is to get rid of log4j1 that is flagged by some CVEs. The main difference between 3.8 and 3.7.1 is that in 3.8 we are shipping logback and no more log4j1, so you can think to switch directly to 3.8.0. You can check on JIRA for the list of fixes that went to 3.7.1. I can't remember anything that is very bad.
