Alas, the Trill support does need to patch the build bits. However, the RANLIB and LIBTOOL errors went away when I built quagga based on version 15 instead of 14, so apparently it was a problem that others had and they fixed it. I am back in business. And the first thing I am going to do once I get the newest version integrated is to start the process of pushing Trill support upstream.
My plan is to create a single patch that patches anything I need to patch that the automake would have done. This will be the last patch file in the sequence, so that when automake 1.11 becomes part of the CBE all we will need to do is delete that file to start using it.
