Hi,

I have started the process to update binutils from 2.19 to the latest 2.21 version. The zip file is binutils-2.21.1a.tar.bz2 however it extracts into the directory binutils-2.21.1/. This confuses the gmake prep target:

(gcc-v20z-s01:bash) binutils: gmake prep
/bin/rm -f -r /net/gcc-v20z-s01/export/home/george/binutils/components/binutils/binutils-2.21.1a /net/gcc-v20z-s01/export/home/george/binutils/tools/userland-unpack binutils-2.21.1a.tar.bz2 /usr/bin/touch /net/gcc-v20z-s01/export/home/george/binutils/components/binutils/binutils-2.21.1a/.unpacked touch: cannot create /net/gcc-v20z-s01/export/home/george/binutils/components/binutils/binutils-2.21.1a/.unpacked: No such file or directory gmake: *** [/net/gcc-v20z-s01/export/home/george/binutils/components/binutils/binutils-2.21.1a/.unpacked] Error 1
(gcc-v20z-s01:bash) binutils: ls -1d binutils-2.21.1*
binutils-2.21.1/
binutils-2.21.1a.tar.bz2

Is there a preferred way to handle the name mismatch?

Thanks,
George
