Let's say I have 2 packages:

apache-php52
apache-php53

How do I ensure that only 1 of them can be installed?

So say apache-php53 is installed.
I try to install apache-php52 and I get an error
or I'm told that apache-php53 is blocking me or ...

As Danek asked, why do you want this?

If the actual packages deliver conflicting files, the package system will already handle that, you don't need an exclude dependency.

Is the issue that Apache can't load both of the modules at the same time?
