while that might fix your version string and trick pkg, I think the below complaint is saying your new package also depends on a newer openssl package, which it can't update because you haven't unlocked that one as well. which you could try to do, but I suspect it would then complain about others, some of which might not be unlockable like userlandThis is the version I ended up with:pkg://userland/library/security/[email protected],5.11-0.175.0.1.0.0.1117:20120925T214616Z The workspace is created for s11-sru by hg clone ssh://[email protected]//gates/gate -u s11-sru su220 The build version is picked up automatically by su220/make-rules/ips-buildinfo.mk which has the following originals: TRUNK_ID ?= 0.175 UPDATENUM ?= 0 SRUNUM ?= 1 PLATNUM ?= 0 BUILDID ?= 0and few other ...I have not made any intentional changes to the version string. As I'm trying to replacepkg://solaris/library/security/[email protected],5.11-0.175.0.0.0.2.537:20111019T105635 with my new version. Next I'll try SRUNUM 0 and BUILDID 3 so that my version end up 175.0.0.0.3
packages (say, system/library and system/core-os).

This is one of the things that make IPS packages so irritating to use. Maybe the Userland email list would have some ideas.Yes, a package system that actually enforces the constraints packages specify is quite annoying, isn't it? Ok, that was mean of me, but the package system is doing what was asked of it. When mixing packages from completely different OS builds, constraints are going to (as expected) result in pain. This has nothing to do with IPS and everything to do with how the packages were built. In this case, it looks like the user is trying to install a version of trousers that was built on an S11 Update 1 system on an S11 FCS system. That's not going to work well. -Shawn- Dan -------- Original Message -------- Subject: similar trousers installation issue running your script Date: Mon, 1 Oct 2012 14:03:57 -0700 (PDT) From: Tsu-Phong Wu <[email protected]> To: Daniel E Anderson <[email protected]> CC: Tsu-phong Wu <[email protected]> Hi Dan, Modified your script in couple places and it didn't seem to work for me.
