Indeed. I suspect Rao might have gotten tripped up by running "man va_start" or something similar, and not noticing that he got va_start(9f) because, usefully, there is no va_start(3c). There's stdarg(3ext) and varargs(3ext), but no particularly useful way to find your way there.
