There is a problem with function datafit(). When for some reason the solution doesn't converge, you get the following error message: --> [pp,err] = datafit(GG, Z, ppo) at line 243 of function datafit ( C:\Program Files\scilab-2024.1.0\modules\optimization\macros\datafit.sci line 255 ) costf: Wrong type for output argument #1: Real scalar expected. This is misleading since the user doesn't really know the internals of datafit()'s code. Indeed I wasted considerable time trying to investigate the function's code in an attempt to figure out what might be going on, to no avail. Finally I tried luck changing the initial guess and was successful. It would be more informative if some cue regarding what the user can do to get the desired solution were provided, for instance: "The initial guess is too far from a solution" or "Fitting process failed. Try another initial guess or another fitting model".
