Resolved. I was using the 5.5.1-fuse-00-06 release. I switched to 5.5.1 from apache, issue solved. I also tested on 5.6-SNAPSHOT, 5.6-SNAPSHOT proved to be quite a bit faster from my tests using 300k messages. Nice work!
