We have been using G1GC, but experience problems there every other week. At 
first everything happens in the young gen space, but after a few days we see a 
big increase in the old gen space. A few more days and we see several minutes 
of garbage collection, resulting in a failing cluster. We could probably tune 
G1GC, but ZGC handles it well. However we do experience trouble with the 
counters as Jelmer reported. Looking at your answer there I'm guessing it has 
nothing to do with ZGC, but who knows.
