Matt, Justin, and Ken Thanks for providing the information and links, I understand that new features and capabilities take time and testing.
Two specific JMS 2.0 features I am looking for is Asynchronous Send and delayed delivery. I know these are available with Artemis. We have deployed numerous applications with the classic release and with other features and options that are available within Classic I was doing my best not to migrate and/or add Artemis. Is there an approximate time on the release of 6.3.0? Thank you again, Jason ________________________________ From: Matt Pavlovich <[email protected]> Sent: Wednesday, January 7, 2026 2:42 PM To: [email protected] <[email protected]> Subject: Re: ActiveMQ Classis Full JMS 2.0 Capabilities CAUTION: This email originated from outside of the organization. There is a target to get one or two of the methods added in the upcoming v6.3.0 release — specifically receiveBody and deliveryDelay. Keep in mind shared topic-subscriptions can be done using Virtual Topics today (publishers send to topics, subscribers connect to queues) — and is arguably easier to work with for both developers and administrators (queues have more overall features for consumers anyway). ref: https://nam12.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Factivemq.apache.org%2Fvirtual-destinations&data=05%7C02%7Cjason.jackson%40itechag.com%7C598c50ba8ff94a74293b08de4e2503f9%7C07e5f1b9902a4d9f974c04601319bfec%7C0%7C0%7C639034118071475341%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJFbXB0eU1hcGkiOnRydWUsIlYiOiIwLjAuMDAwMCIsIlAiOiJXaW4zMiIsIkFOIjoiTWFpbCIsIldUIjoyfQ%3D%3D%7C0%7C%7C%7C&sdata=jR9qQoXlq%2BPEoExiQBjhPgL2JijRhjetYA29VB6XQGI%3D&reserved=0<https://activemq.apache.org/virtual-destinations> Thanks, Matt Pavlovich > On Jan 7, 2026, at 1:27 PM, Jason Jackson <[email protected]> wrote: > > > Good Afternoon, > > I understand that JMS 2.0 capabilities are slowly being > introduced/implemented into ActiveMQ Classic. > > > Is anyone aware if there is a timeline that has been defined that states when > ActiveMQ Classic will have full JMS 2.0 capabilities. > > I know that ActiveMQ Artemis has this capability but I was doing my best not > to have two products running or having to migrate to this release. > > Thank you. > > Jason --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [email protected] For additional commands, e-mail: [email protected] For further information, visit: https://nam12.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Factivemq.apache.org%2Fcontact&data=05%7C02%7Cjason.jackson%40itechag.com%7C598c50ba8ff94a74293b08de4e2503f9%7C07e5f1b9902a4d9f974c04601319bfec%7C0%7C0%7C639034118071537384%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJFbXB0eU1hcGkiOnRydWUsIlYiOiIwLjAuMDAwMCIsIlAiOiJXaW4zMiIsIkFOIjoiTWFpbCIsIldUIjoyfQ%3D%3D%7C0%7C%7C%7C&sdata=Wj1aHKsG0XdVwoPmxyNMMkd52hyEKaGOlYxe1tLKBBQ%3D&reserved=0<https://activemq.apache.org/contact>
