Dear Mr Matt Raible

- List of questions :

* From where Appfuse inspired to offer his services?
I was inspired to create it way back in 2002 when I was writing a book about
JSP 2.0. I needed a sample application and created Struts Resume to accomplish
this. Shortly after I extracted AppFuse out of it and released 1.0 in late 2003:

There's a good article on java.net that explains most of the history.

* Young developers they are interested in Appfuse? what offer Appfuse to them ?

It basically eliminates the first week or two of a project. With the choice of
frameworks in Java-land, there's a lot of configuration necessary to integrate
them. AppFuse does this for you and sets up authentication and user management.
Here's an article I wrote in the Ant-based (1.x) days that explains 7 Reasons
to use AppFuse.

* Safety web with Appfuse, is this a weak point for Appfuse over its
competitors ? any regrets ?

There's nothing we do special apart from what each framework provides. There's
a good chance that if they have security issues, we have them too.

* The adapatation of Appfuse 3.0 with Web 3.0, a future project? can he resist
the new technologies?

AppFuse 3 will consist of services and UI, as separate modules. Services will
be RESTful and will likely consist of Rails, Grails and Java (CXF or Jersey).
The UI options will be GWT and Flex. It's quite a departure from previous
versions, but I think SOFEA is here to stay and I'd like AppFuse to be the
kickstart for it.

* Can we invest in Appfuse 3.0 to make large web project ?

Yes, you can certainly help make AppFuse 3 happen faster. Look for issues
assigned to 2.1-M2 and provide patches for them. The sooner 2.1 is done, the
sooner development for 3.0 starts happening.

And exclusively for my presentation, if possible :), Appyfuse 3.0 can we a
brief description for his development cycle ?

It's an open source project that I do in my spare time, so I can't commit to
any dates or deadlines. If I did, I'd miss them. ;-)

I hope to start developing it next year (realistically in March) and have a
milestone release in Summer 2010.

If its possible too, i would be very pleased if you record a video when you
answer to those questions (as a TV interview) to diffuse it in my show.

How about an on-site interview? I fly first-class to anywhere in the world (if
you're buying). ;-)

Cheers,

Matt

Yours faithfuly
