Hi, I use ubuntu as well, and used an earlier version of appfuse without issue with ubuntu 8.04. I am having some problems with the current appfuse 2.1.0-M1 on ubuntu 10.04 using the same JDK you're using but I've seen no reason to think this is ubuntu related, though it may be.
I also say the eclipse project problem you mentioned, so will try setting the version of the maven-eclipse-plugin to 2.5.1 as Matt suggested and see if that helps with that issue. Just out of curiosity, have you successfully run the PersonDaoTest? I am seeing a catastrophic failure there, the eclipse project setup bug didn't seem to have much of a detrimental effect but not being able to run Dao tests is much more serious...
