I think you want to add guards to your transitions by clicking on the
transition from your junction to the next activity and adding a new guard
with an appropriate expression.

If my understanding is correct, one shouldn't add text to the junction
itself.  So, for example, a junction should not be labelled 'login
successul' with transitions marked [yes] and [no] (though this is often
seen), instead the junction should have no text and the transitions have
guards of [login successful] and [login failed], or alternatively [login
successful] and [else].

This is only my understanding so I'm happy to be corrected, though I've just
taken a look at a colleague's copy of 'UML Distilled' by Martin Fowler which
seems to take this approach too.
