[Newbie] xinfo of Fortress

Hi folks,
 
curtrently I am a little bit confused about the format of the xinfo file used in 
Fortress. Looking at the tranmslator example the root element is a component-info. 
Looking into the docs I always find xinfo files with root element <type>. Is there a 
description of the Fortress xinfo file somewhere or is the example just out-dated and 
I should use the <type>-xinfo?
