Several open source authors/contributors have banded together to provide a network where companies that are using open source can purchase support. I spoke with Greg Wilkens (author of Jetty) at the JavaOne conference about the new Core Developers Net group. Greg is one of the open source contributors that is spearheading the group. Other participants include JBoss, Log4J, Tomcat, Postgre, and others.
My question is if the main Avalon developers/contributors know about Core Developers and/or have considered jumping on board. My company has made Avalon-Phoenix its choice for an application server framework for its next of products, and I'm confident it would purchase some support time. See http://www.coredevelopers.net or [EMAIL PROTECTED] According to Greg Wilkins: "Our open source support is based on a retainer model, where you pre-purchase a number of hours from our core developer patners and associates. You can use these hours over a year for support or consulting issues, questions or tasks. We provide a 2 day response time to issues raised without notice. The list price for our support contracts are: US$5000 16 hours US$10000 40 hours US$20000 100 hours --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
