Is new release of Fortress planned to go out any time soon in order to utilize new Meta package instead of .roles file ?
Sure. Keep in mind that Fortress already uses a meta-info layer, although it is not the Meta package. It already has saved me a bunch of work when I migrated some classes. Seriously, this will save a lot of time if you start adopting it.
Also, Merlin beta 1 is also released. You can start playing with Merlin now, as it does add alot of management style features that you may like.
