I've just comitted some code into avalon/merlin/kernel/servlet that basically creates a servlet with an embedded kernel. It's not complete but it works and it is an example of how to do this sort of thing. I'm running this example successfully inside tomcat.

Don't worry - what I've committed is just an empty kernel. I'm basically exploring what you can do just with merlin.properties. If you click on the following link you wil get an idea of what I'm playing with - basically getting a minimal kernal up and runnig and then leveraging the properie to make things happen.
