Problem solved. I made a mistake when updating the 3.4 branch and applied some changes to 2.3 by accident. You should be able build without problem now.

If you do that and you have same problem then we have an issue in cvs.
same error occurs after following through with above steps. On both the template and hello tutorial. test:test target fails with the below message. I am just including agains for convinience.
I think it just might be the CVS issue. I also did a clean cvs checkout of util, repository, meta and merlin. Build everything untill I got to the merlin where the build target failed with "can't resolve symbol" compile error. Please see my previous email for stack trace on that.
