Can't Eclipse and other Refactoring tools manage this? Select all package protected methods, right click, change modifier.
probably can, but with IDEA its three clicks or key combos a method.
End of the day, I never rely on 'vigilante users' of my code, they can always screw around with it, I just want protection against myself and well-meaning colleagues, and in that package protection does a pretty good job.
hehehe. I just figured out that in terms of laziness, package protection actually saves you typing early on (no modifier). I also just reminded myself IDEA's code inspector has a "weaker access priviledge" check. Perhaps I should give 'package' it a try... :D
