An example on how to use privileged context entries can be found in the Merlin HTTP packaged. From memory, it is used to register HTTP Handler componenent (Servlets) to an HTTP Server Components (Jetty) through a Component Listener (in which you'll find the context code)
Also in merlin cvs - under the merlin/platform/tutorials/dynamics directory is a small tutorial that goes though the dynamic establishment and modification of widgets and gizmos.
